Dorm Room Spotlight — Busy but Comfy

Before coming to campus, Ethan Young ‘13 imagined his single room in Butt A would have a woodsy, cabin-like theme. But he soon realized that the theme would be too difficult to execute and switched his strategy to “covering as much of the walls…[and] as much white space as possible.”

Ethan's Room

“[My room is] busy but comfy at the same time. There’s a lot on the walls.”

Where he shopped: Bed, Bath & Beyond, Target, and his brother’s old things from when he went to Wes.

How the room reflects his personality:
“I have a lot of interests…Maybe the way that I keep up my room is a better reflection of my personality because I’m always trying to reorganize it.”

Point of interest: His electric candles. “I’m really hoping fire safety comes in and sees my fake candles and writes me up so then I can show them they’re electric and be like ‘BOOM!’”

Tips: “I always try to use lamp lighting because the light is horrible and fluorescent and makes things look like a hospital…lamp lighting looks homey and nice.”
